Microsoft (MSFT) Announces First Round of Xbox One TV, Entertainment Apps (AMZN) (NFLX)

Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is gearing up for the launch of its video game console -- the Xbox One -- this month.

Today, Microsoft announced the first round of TV and entertainment apps which will be available for the Xbox One. Those include fan favorites like Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) Instant Video, Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX), Hulu Plus, Machinima, and Twitch.

Microsoft is putting a lot behind its Xbox One console, hoping it will attract more than just gamers this time around. With Microsoft looking to make a stronger ecosystem between its PC software, Windows Phone platform, and Xbox software, you can bet investors will be focused on sales of the device as we progress through the 2013 holiday shopping season.

Sales of the Xbox One are slated to commence on November 22nd.

Microsoft is up in early trading Friday.
