Meredith Whitney Says Hedge Fund 'Chapter of My Life is Over'
Kenbelle Capital co-founder Meredith Whitney spoke with FOX Business Network's (FBN) Maria Bartiromo about BlueCrest Capital dropping the lawsuit against Whitney's hedge fund. Whitney said, "I was thrilled we got an anchor investor and unfortunately that anchor investor came with some complications." When asked whether she will continue to managing money, Whitney said, "I think that chapter of my life is over...this whole experience has been highly unfortunate and I'm putting it behind me."
On BlueCrest Capital dropping lawsuit against Kenbelle Capital:
"Over the last two and a half years I've worked really hard to put my thesis to work in the market and it was something that was incredibly important to me, a big labor of love and fortunately I was thrilled we got an anchor investor and unfortunately that anchor investor came with some complications and so I'm trying to gloss over this and not get into particulars, but I was sad and disappointed about how this ended up, but the issue was resolved recently. And sadly I'm moving on or fortunately I'm moving on to the next chapter."
On whether she will continue to managing money:
"I think that chapter of my life is over...This whole experience has been highly unfortunate and I'm putting it behind me."
On whether she returned the money:
"At the end of May I returned the money to every single investor, yes. So everything is pretty much sown up."
