Merck (MRK) Ticks Higher Following Positive Odanacatib Phase III News

Merck & Co. (NYSE: MRK) shares are ticking higher in late trading Wednesday, following positive news for its investigational cathepsin K (cat-K) inhibitor, odanacatib.

According to reports, odanacatib's Phase III is cleared for early cancellation by the DMC due to robust efficacy and a favorable benefit-risk profile.

Shares are about 3 percent higher late Wednesday.
