McDonald's (MCD) Says Fewer U.S. Restaurants Will be Open This Year

McDonald's (NYSE: MCD) is planning to cut the number of U.S. restaurants in operation this year versus last year.
According to Reuters, citing a company spokesperson on the information, in cut is supposed to have a minimal
impact on the 14,000 restaurants operating within the U.S.
News comes following a recent announcement by the company that it planned to shutter 350 U.S. restaurants in the U.S., China, and Japan, and planned closure of 350 global locations. The company did say that it planned to open 300 new international locations this year.
Shares of McDonald's are flat in early trading Friday.
