Looking to Sell Your Startup? Call Yahoo! (YHOO)

June 13, 2013 8:00 AM EDT
Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) is adding more bolt-on parts as it looks to reposition itself as a formidable player in the battle for consumer attention and corporate ad dollars.

After the close Wednesday, it was reported that Yahoo! acquired Ghostbird Software, which is an Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iOS app creator. The company will likely be integrated into Yahoo!'s Flickr team.

Ghostbird note, "If you already have the KitCam or PhotoForge2 apps on your devices, you will be able to continue to use them in their current versions. However, we will not continue to update the apps as future versions of iOS are released."

In addition, Yahoo! also grabbed up Rondee, which will join Yahoo!'s Small Business unit. Rondee's clients will be transferred to InstantConference and the company will be shuttered in July.

Little by little, Yahoo! is aiming to enhance its offerings. Given the recent $1.1 billion acquisition of Tumblr just last month, it seems CEO Marissa Mayer isn't taking a breather anytime soon. Given the mishmash of companies now needed to be synergized, investors are hoping she doesn't.

Shares are lower in early trading.
