Keurig Green Mountain's (GMCR) Next Major Brewer to Go on Sale Aug. 24th

August 22, 2014 7:40 AM EDT

Keurig Green Mountain (Nasdaq: GMCR) is expected to begin sales of its Keruig 2.0 brewer on August 24th. Sales will begin on retailers' online sites.

The WSJ noted Friday that this will be the first major product debut for Keurig Green Mountain under new CEO Brian Kelley. The Keurig 2.0 will be able to brew carafes of coffee along with the traditional single-serving pods.

Sales of Keurig brewers have largely fallen flat over the last year or so as product innovation has lagged. Kelley is looking to tap into the market that still uses drip brewers, commenting, The biggest reason people haven't bought a Keurig is because they want to brew bigger sizes ... This expands our reach to an entirely new group of consumers.

Keurig 2.0 will be able to brew four cups of coffee with new carafe pods. Pricing is expected around $140 to $200.

Shares of Keurig Green Mountain are flat in early trading Friday.
