The new movie "Jobs," which stars Ashton Kutcher as the late Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) CEO Steve Jobs, hit screens with a dud this weekend. The movie opened in seventh place, bringing in a messily $6.7 million despite a broad U.S. and Canada release.
Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, played in the movie by Josh Gad, recently commented that while the acting was "good" there was a lot of things wrong.
The weak opening doesn't bode well for a second movie on Steve Jobs written by Aaron Sorkin.
It is unclear what the weak opening for the movie will have on the stock, although recent analyst commentary suggested the "buzz" created by the movie should help product sales. The lack of "buzz" therefore suggests no tailwind.
