Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (Nasdaq: GMCR) shares are trading stronger Thursday heading into peer Starbucks (Nasdaq: SBUX) third-quarter 2013 earnings announcement, expected out after the market closes.
Volatility on the stock is up 3.2 percent from Wednesday's close, with overall volatility up 189 percent from its annual average.
Shares are about 1 percent better in morning trading.
Investors are likely to listen in to how well K-Cup sales have been doing in the quarter for Starbucks. At least one firm is positive on potential sales numbers for K-Cups.
Green Mountain is slated to report its third-quarter results on August 1st.
