Gov. Pawlenty, Trane President to Discuss Energy Issues With Minnesota Business Leaders

July 10, 2008 10:12 AM EDT

ST. PAUL, Minn., July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Minnesota has a missed opportunity -- making its commercial buildings energy efficient. Energy use in existing commercial buildings in urban areas like Minneapolis and St. Paul is a contributor to global warming, and are expensive to operate.

Governor Tim Pawlenty, an advocate for increasing efficiency of state buildings and escalating the use of renewable fuels, will speak at Minnesota's first Alliance to Save Energy Associate event, being held in St. Paul. The governor will talk to local business leaders about energy issues in Minnesota and around the country.

To raise further awareness for this issue in the state of Minnesota, the Alliance to Save Energy has asked Trane, a leading global provider of energy efficient indoor comfort systems and services, to get engaged and discuss solutions.

Trane has a significant presence in the state including a site focused on designing, engineering and manufacturing building control systems; a sales and service center, and numerous parts retail stores throughout the state of Minnesota.

Introducing Gov. Pawlenty will be John Conover, president of Trane's commercial business in the Americas, a global provider of indoor comfort systems and comprehensive facility solutions. Under Conover's leadership, Trane offers energy efficient solutions integral to solving the problem of inefficient commercial buildings. Details of the event are:
