General Motors (NYSE: GM) is looking to start production of its "Tesla fighter," the Chevy Bolt, before the end of this year.
According to HybridCars.com, GM's 2017 Fleet Guide says that the suggested start of regular production would be October. Production is slated for the Orion Assembly Plant.
After the document was discovered, GM pulled it off its website and edited it so that the Bolt's suggested production start was no longer there.
One GM rep affirmed that production of the Bolt would start in Q416.
Shares of GM are down modestly Friday.
