Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) shares are lower on the session amid comments from Americas Chief Joe Hinrichs that the company's hybrids are selling well despite MPG concerns.
Hinrichs commented that Ford is talking with the EPS over hybrid MPG testing and is working with the industry to evaluate if changes are needed.
He was commented to reporters this morning.
Last week, Consumer Reports said the EPA's MPG numbers on the Fusion Hybrid and C-MAX hybrid differed from what their test results came back with. Though both vehicles boasted good mileage, it fell short of EPA claims. These reports are disputed by Ford, who claims it is confident their tests meet EPA protocols and stands behind its MPG claims.
