Ford (F) All Smiles as Fusion Tops Prius for 'Green Car of the Year' Award

Ford (NYSE: F) investors are seeing green today as Ford's new Fusion model reclaimed the title of "Green Car of the Year" award, given out by the Green Car Journal.
Competitors for the award included the Dodge Dart Aero, Ford C-MAX, Mazda CX-5 SKYACTIV, and venerable Toyota (NYSE: TM) Prius C.
The new Fusion has a price of $27,200 for the hybrid model, which gets a combined 47 miles per gallon (MPG). The Fusion starts off at $21,700.
This is the eight year Green Car Journal has given out the award, with previous winners including the Chevy Volt in 2010 and compressed nat gas powered Honda Civic in 2011.
Ford shares are up 2.4 percent into the close Thursday.
