Ford (F) to Start New Blue Oval Facebook (FB) Ad Campaign

You knew it would happen.

Upon the great exodus of General Motors (NYSE: GM) from spending ad bucks on Facebook (Nasdaq: FB), guess who just stepped up to the plate to play ball? That's right, it's Ford (NYSE: F).

According to reports out Friday, Ford will begin using its re-gotten-control-of blue oval logo to its fullest extent on Facebook, pushing "oval-ized" items like T-Shirts, toy cars, mugs, and, of course, Mustangs.

Ads will appear on the right side of Ford's Facebook page as well as select motor-sports themed pages.

No word on how much Ford will be shelling out, but GM said it dedicated about $10 million on Facebook advertising.

Shares of Ford are indicated lower ahead of the bell Friday.
