Following Today's Kosan (KOSN) Buyout, Investors Look for Next Biotech Deal

Following today's buyout of small biotech Kosan Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: KOSN) by Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY) at a 200%+ premium, investors are on the lookout for the next biotech deal.

Today's deal follows other recent biotech takeovers including Millennium Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: MLNM), Sirtris Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: SIRT), Encysive Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: ENCY), and Restore Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: REST).

Here are some biotech companies that could be next to be acquired: Onyx Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ONXX), OSI Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: OSIP), ImClone (NASDAQ: IMCL), ISIS Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ISIS), BioMarin Pharmaceutical (NASDAQ: BMRN), ArQule (NASDAQ: ARQL), Regeneron (NASDAQ: REGN), Affymax (NASDAQ: AFFY), Medivation (NASDAQ: MDVN).
