Facebok (Nasdaq: FB) affirmed that access has been restored for mobile and desktop users following a widespread outage earlier Friday.
According to Reuters, the company offered the following statement: Earlier this morning, some people had trouble accessing Facebook for a short time. We quickly investigated and have fully restored service for everyone. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
Facebook is still looking into the incident, but thinks it's more of a technical issue versus foul play.
About 1.32 billion users access the social media network monthly. It wasn't made immediately clear how many users were affected by the outage.
Shares of Facebook are down 0.5 percent.
