Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) could unveil its much-speculated mobile advertising network at f8
developer conference in San Francisco later this month.
Re/code noted that Facebook will push the ad network with publishers and developers given the vast collection it has amassed over the years. This will also give Facebook a chance to monetize its users even when they aren't on Facebook's own properties.
While Facebook has been more focused on advertising on its own site, the recent surge in mobile ad revs has caused the company to push harder for a network. Last January, the company was experimenting with was to sell ads on other peoples apps, which it referred to as being a network of sorts.
Shares of Facebook are up in early trading Monday. f8 starts on April 30, 2014.
