Facebook's (FB) 'Click-to-Message' Businesses Effort Will Likely Draw in Additional Ad Revenue - GWI

Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) recently moved to allow users the ability to directly communicate with businesses via its "Click-to-Message" effot. But, will it pay dividends in terms of revenue?

GlobalWebIndex tackled that topic this week. With a blog post today, GWI noted that around 18 percent of Facebook users have posted a question or comment to a brand's page within the last month. It appeared that younger users were more likely to do this.

GWI sees Asian-Pacific and LatAm as strong regions for Facebook in terms of ad revenue from the initiative, while North American and European users will be a tougher nut to crack.

While no specific numbers have been given, 18 percent of Facebook users is about 250 million people. That's a lot of advertising opportunities for the social media giant. Not to mention that messaging to businesses will help enhance the "stickiness" of the Facebook platform.
