ETF Movers 7/23: Coal ETF (KOL), Gold Miners ETF (GDX) Sell-Off, Homebuilders (XHB) Higher

Market Vectors Coal ETF (NYSE: KOL) 5.6% LOWER; Coal continues to fall from recent highs. Large coal company, Peabody Energy (NYSE: BTU) reported strong earnings today but the stock is off 3.5%.

Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (AMEX: GDX) 5.3% LOWER; Gold continues recent profit-taking, down 3% today.

SPDR S&P Homebuilders (AMEX: XHB) 4.6% HIGHER; President Bush will drop his opposition to the housing bill, clearing the way for House approval on Wednesday. Homebuilders are rallying on hopes the measure will help stabilize the new home market.

Energy Select Sector SPDR (AMEX: XLE) 3.8% LOWER; Crude continues recent sell-off, closing down about $4 to below $125 per barrel.

KBW Regional Banking ETF (AMEX: KRE) 2.5% HIGHER: Regional banks continue to bounce off multi-year lows as earnings results, while bad, are not as horrible as many expected.
