Dorsey Lauded as Potential Twitter (TWTR) Savior

October 2, 2015 11:24 AM EDT

Hoping to strike before the iron's hot, Re/code appears to be vouching for support of Jack Dorsey to run Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) ahead of any official announcement.

The blog posted an aptly-titled piece "Why Jack Dorsey is Ready to Save Twitter." The article goes into detail about Dorsey's transformation over the last few years into a focused, honed corporate executive ... perfect for the Twitter renaissance.

The piece even goes as far as to compare Dorsey's transformation to that of the late Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL).

(Notably, Re/code already said earlier this week, citing sources, that Dorsey was a shoe-in for the role.)

Whether Dorsey is going to lead Twitter as permanent CEO is yet to be seen, but recent reports (including today's) largely support the idea. Dorsey is even putting his hand into several areas of Twitter in order to coalesce the company and solidify his presence, as though the job is already his. The exec has also received support from large shareholders, some that are openly vocal about the idea, but most remaining quiet about it.

Shares of Twitter are up over 3 percent today, but continue to hover around the company's $26 IPO price ... a telling sign given the current state of affairs at the company.

Again, the Re/code piece is here.
