Corning, Inc. (NYSE: GLW) is taking the stage at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet conference today. Initially, CFO James B. Flaws said that curved glass cellphones will sell this year.
Headlines come following speculation at CES in Las Vegas during January that some sort of bent glass device would be available. The first mass-produced curved-glass smartphone goes to Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) Nexus offer, though initial sales came in flat for the device. Samsung has been labeled as a prime contender to make a successful curved-glass device, though others aren't out of the running either.
Corning shares are up 1.4 percent Tuesday.
