Citigroup (C) Website Citibank.com Down Nearly 24 Hours

Citigroup's (NYSE: C) consumer online banking website, citibank.com, has been down for nearly 24 hours and users continue to have trouble accessing the site.

On Twitter Wednesday the company said they were aware of the issue and working to fix it.

"Currently we are aware & are working on technical issues with Citi websites. We will let you know when service is fully restored (1/2)"

"We apologize for the inconvenience. Please call the number on the back of your card if you need immediate assistance. (2/2)"

Really, there is no reason for you to be so violently angry about a simple problem. Unless this outage is somehow costing you hundreds or thousands of dollars, I feel like you are being way over the top. And no, I will not rise to your bait of useless cursing. I just wanted there to be a person who called you out on your pointless rage.

And it won't be back up until 8 a.m. CST tomorrow. The tech I spoke to said that they hadn't been hacked (they may want to coordinate better with whoever in management spoke to The Street); this was apparently the result of some updates that went south. As in to Antarctica, apparently, and their IT crowd must be Moss, Roy, and Jen.
