Chipotle (CMG) Sued by Employees 3x More than Peers Starbucks (SBUX), Panera (PNRA)
Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) shares are on watch following a report that the company is being inundated with employee lawsuits.
According to the NY Post, Chipotle has come under 115 federal lawsuits from employees since July 2011, which is over three-times more than Starbucks (Nasdaq: SBUX) or Panera Bread (Nasdaq: PNRA). That amounts to around 4.85 suits per 100 stores.
Most of the suits are said to allege discrimination and 35 are still active.
It isn't clear how many, if any, of the cases relate to the recent norovirus outbreak.
