Chesapeake Energy (CHK) Volatility Flat into Significant Hogshooter Discovery

Chesapeake Energy Corp. (NYSE: CHK) volatility rising early following the announcement it may a big discovery in the Hogshooter play in the Anadarko Basin of the Texas Panhandle and western Oklahoma.

Implied volatility is up 1.1 percent from Thursday's close with Chesapeake stock about 3.5 percent lower on Friday's session. Overall, volatility is just about flat with its trailing annual average.
