Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) may have missed the mark with its iPad mini 3.
While the tablet is a solid competitor, not much has changed from the iPad mini 2. The next-generation version isn't even thinner, unlike the new iPad Air 2.
The only spec that changed was the addition of TouchID. Literally.
BGR pointed to the revamped specs page for Apple's tablet lineup. If you scroll down, there's only one change between the old and new version.
Oh, and that TouchID upgrade will cost you a cool $100 extra. So, if you're planning to get the new tablet and you don't mind the current security level, grab an iPad mini 2 while you can.
Shares of Apple are slightly lower in late trading.
