Shares of Apple, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) are showing early strength Monday, currently up about 1.6 percent on the session with good volume.
Investors might be reacting to Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) pending product announcement this afternoon. It's largely believed Microsoft will debut a tablet PC, but earlier speculation suggested the device would be aimed more at Amazon's (Nasdaq: AMZN) Kindle Fire rather than Apple's iPad.
Apple ended last week off about 1 percent amid several key updates announced at WWDC 2012 on June 11th.
Amid the move higher, Apple shares have bumped up against the $584 level. Volatility is down 3 percent from last Friday's close.
