Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) shares are on watch following new research speculating on a rebound in iPhone shipments for Q216.
According to Digitimes, Apple is expected to ship 41 to 43 million iPhone units in the current quarter, which that number expected to increase to 45 to 48 million in Q3.
Total iPhone shipments are expected to decline 5 to 9 percent to a range of 210 to 220 millin units this year.
The mix-shift to lower-priced iPhone 5s and iPhone SE units are also expected to impact average selling price. The report has Apple's ASP falling from $641.8 in Q1 down to $600 in Q2.
Shares of Apple are up over 1 percent.
