With Lehman Brothers (NYSE: LEH) now bankrupt, and Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER) sold to Bank of America, there remains just two independent major investment banks - Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) and Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS).
Today there is speculation they could likely buy a deposit bank of sellout to a deposit bank. Ladenburg Thalmann analyst Dick Bove mentioned this today.
