Alcoa (AA) Gains Ahead of GM (GM) 'Major' U.S. Manufacturing Announcement

April 29, 2015 3:16 PM EDT

Alcoa (NYSE: AA) is modestly higher today (+0.6%) ahead of a "major" U.S. manufacturing announcement from GM tomorrow. The announcement will be made at the Pontiac Metal Center, which has some thinking it could have to do with aluminum body trucks.

GM is not elaborating on what the "major" news will be, but some suggest it could be the aluminum body truck as the company looks to keep pace with Ford's new aluminium-bodied F-150.
