Advanced Micro (AMD) Becoming More Talentless as Another Executive Departs
Tweet Send to a Friend
The trend of decent talent leaving Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD) continues.
According to AllThingsD on Thursday, executive Michael Goddard has left the chip maker for greener pastures at Samsung. Goddard last held the title of vice president of product design as well as chief engineer on client products. He had been at AMD since 1988, ATD notes.
With AMD having cut guidance several times in the past year, its said the about 26 notable executives have departed the firm since the summer.
Jumping ship shouldn't be a surprise; AMD announced in November that it planned to explore strategic options moving forward, which may indicate a sale or bankruptcy. More job cuts are also expected in 2013, following a 15 percent reduction this year.
Shares of AMD are flat early.
