Actuate Names City of Chicago 2009 Excellence Award Winner for Performance Management

City of Chicago Saves $10 million with Actuate's BIRT Performance Scorecard

SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: ACTU), the people behind BIRT(TM), today announced that it has awarded a 2009 Excellence Award for Performance Management to City of Chicago. The Actuate Excellence Awards recognize innovation and impressive return on investment among Actuate customers and BIRT users. City of Chicago has won in the Big Bang category for constantly expanding Performance Management with Actuate's BIRT Performance Scorecard.

Before City of Chicago deployed BIRT Performance Scorecard, the city had no centralized automated tool for managing or reporting data. With BIRT, the organization now has real time, centralized access to performance metrics for the Budget Office and the Mayor's Office. This allows for performance management to be a constant and dynamic management process rather than merely a static reporting activity.
