Thiel's Clarium Capital Dumps Oil Services HOLDRs (OIH), Shows Very Little Exposure To U.S. Stocks
Peter Thiel's Clarium Capital issued their 13F for the quarter ended June 30, 2009.
A few notables from the filing include dumping his entire 6,786,700 share position in Oil Services HOLDRs (NYSE: OIH). He also showed a new small 40,000 share position in Apartment Investment & Management Co. (AIV).
Also notable on a macro level is that the value of Thiel's reported holdings went down from $527 million to $13.3 million, suggesting as of June 30 he had very little exposure to U.S. equities.
Thiel co-founded PayPal and served as its Chairman and CEO until the company's sale to eBay in October 2002 for $1.5 billion.
