Rosenstein's Jana Partners Q4 13F Breakdown: Ups Bets In Financials

Hedge fund titan Barry Rosenstein released the 13F for his Jana Partners LLC fund for the quarter ended December 31, 2009 on February 16th.

The value of the disclosed portfolio is up from $1.31 billion at September 30, 2009 to $1.36 billion at December 31, 2009, but it should be noted that cash, short positions and various other securities are not required to be disclosed in the 13F filing.

During the quarter, Rosenstein greatly increased his exposure to the U.S. financial sector with CIT Group and Citigroup and raising his stakes in Old National Bancorp and First Niagra Financial. The fund also showed new stakes in ETFs iShares Dow Jones US Home Construction and Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF. Rosenstein also showed a big new stake in Xerox.
