Biogen (NASDAQ: BIIB) shares volatile over Merck (NYSE: MRK), Allergan (NYSE: AGN)-related chatter.

UPDATE - Talks were said to be informal and in early stages.

It wasn't made clear whether other companies might be vying for Biogen, though Biogen might not be interested in a deal.

Biogen boasted a market cap of $68 billion ahead of today's trading action.
