Shares of 'Old GM' (OTC: MTLQQ), now known as Motors Liquidation Company, are trading again today under its new stock symbol 'MTLQQ' after being halted on Friday. Shares were being traded under the ticker (OTC: GMGMQ) before the halt and symbol change.
Surprisingly, investors still see value in the stock. MTLQQ is trading at $0.89 after last trading at $1.15 on Friday. Down 22%, but certainly not down and out.
I guess the fun is not over for the 'old GM', despite warnings that trading in the bankrupt company is dangerous for your portfolio and maybe even your health.

is it possible to be a business strategy for gm to call the neww gm motor liquidation in order to scare people so that they sell there share for cheap and gm can buy it back to increase there asset

i bought it at .62, should i sale, or take a chance of it coming back up to .62 and than sale?
Phew...
Well..i wish i had read the related article to this last nite and got out at, or near, .81. But i was able to dump 3,000 shares at .55 that i had actually resigned to believing were completely worthless. So at least i only lost around 900 bucks as opposed to $2,500. Never been so happy to only lose close to a grand :-) I see no real reason why this stock is still hover at .55. I can't believe everyone who owns this has not dumped today???

Rich on Aug 11, 2009 09:32 PMWe were not buying what we throught. If you checked anywhere under that symbol you were told you were buying GM...not the liquidation company. They knew there was a big mistake which is why trading was halted. Reply to the post if you are in and I will give you my number.
