Paulson & Co. Trims Some Gold (GLD) and Exits Banks in a Big Way (BAC) (C) (WFC)

John Paulson's Paulson & Co. hedge fund released its 13F for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 after the close Tuesday.

Notably, the firm trimmed some of its massive stake in the Gold ETF (NYSE: GLD). The firm also got out of banks in a big way: selling most of its Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) and liquidating Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) and Citigroup (NYSE: C).

Paulson also filed a 13D on Hartford (NYSE: HIG) Tuesday pushing for a spin-off of the P&C unit.
