GameStop (GME) Tops Q1 EPS View By 2c; Guides Q2/FY08 In-Line

GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME) reports Q1 EPS of $0.37, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.35. Revenues for the quarter were $1.813 billion, versus the consensus of $1.72 billion.

GameStop sees Q2 EPS in the range of $0.26-$0.28, versus the Street consensus of $0.26. The company also raised its FY08 EPS outlook to $2.30-$2.39, versus $2.33. Same store sales for Q2 are expected to be in the range of +12-14% and +10-12% for FY08. GameStop also said that it expects FY09 EPS growth of at least 25%.

GameStop Corp. operates as a retailer of video game products and personal computer (PC) entertainment software.
