Forward Air (FWRD) Warns for Q3

Forward Air Corp (NASDAQ: FWRD) lowered third quarter. Income per diluted share, which was originally estimated to be between $0.47 and $0.51 per share, is now expected to be between $0.39 and $0.41 per share. This compares to $0.44 per share in the third quarter of 2011. The consensus is $0.49.

Bruce A. Campbell, Chairman, President, and CEO, commenting on the announcement said, "After a surprisingly strong start to the quarter, our airport-to-airport daily tonnage volumes became inconsistent in August as compared to the prior year and turned negative this past week. The strong end of the quarter airport-to-airport volumes that we need to achieve our previously provided guidance simply isn't materializing."
