The Race for Search Engine Market Share Heats Up (GOOG, MSFT, YHOO)

ComScore reported that Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) and Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT) Bing are taking market share from Yahoo! (NASDAQ: YHOO). Keep in mind that Bing is only about six months old, and AOL just re-IPO'd.

For November:

  • Google took 65.9%, up from 65.4% one month ago and 63.5% one year ago;

  • Microsoft's Bing has a 10.3% share, versus 9.9% last month, and 8.3% a year ago;

  • Yahoo dropped to 17.5%, from 18% last month, and 20.4% a year ago;

  • InterActiveCorp.'s (NASDAQ: IACI) Ask.com down to 3.8% from 3.9% last month, and 4% this time last year; and

  • AOL (NYSE: AOL) to a 2.8% share from $2.9% last month, and 3.8% a year ago.
