Shares of Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) declined in after-hours trading on Tuesday following reports that some older Apple devices would be banned from imports into the U.S. due to a patent ruling that went in favor of rival Samsung.
Banned devices include iPhone 4 and iPhone 3G made for AT&T (NYSE: T), according to reports in Bloomberg.
The decision was announced on the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) website. Reports say the ban will be subject to review by President Obama and could be overturned.
Samsung originally filed the complaint in June 2011 and the case is separate from one filed by Apple against Samsung that made headlines last year. Final ruling on the case filed by Apple is due August 1st.
