Retief Goosen Has Mud On His Face For His Comments About Tiger Woods
Retief Goosen told a German TV channel this week that he thought Tiger Woods was faking his knee injury. Did I really just write that? I'll report what Mr. Goosen said, and then let you decide if Retief was being serious or light-hearted, as he says.
Retief says:
"It just seemed that when he hit a bad shot he was in pain and on his good shots he wasn't. I believe if he was really injured he would not have played."
He added: "You see when he made the putts and he went down on his knees and was shouting 'Yeah' his knee wasn't sore. Nobody really knows if he was just showing off or if he was really injured. I believe if he was really injured he would not have played."
Retief Goosen was later asked about his negative comments regarding Tiger Woods injury, to which he said: "I was being light-hearted. No one but Tiger knows how badly hurt he was. But if he was really badly hurt, he would have withdrawn wouldn't he?"
I wonder if Retief's sponsors will get scared by the public reaction to Retief's comments. Retief is sponsored by CA, Inc. (NYSE: CA), Electronic Arts (NYSE: EA), adidas Taylor Made and others.
Also, just like Tiger, Retief also uses IMG as his agent.
