UPDATE: U.S. DOJ Said to Start Currency Settlement Talks at ~$1B/Bank

The U.S.Department of Justice was said to start currency settlement talks at about $1 billion per bank, according to Bloomberg.

UPDATE - The monetary figure is the starting point for discussions and could rise well above the $1 billion level, though one bank that has cooperated with the DOJ will pay less than that amount.

Negotiations will happen with global banks accused of currency manipulation, not just those situated in the U.S.
