ABC News will air a Diane Sawyer interview with Fed chief Ben Bernanke on "World News" Tuesday at 6:30pm EST. Below are some highlights from the transcript.

Bernanke to Sawyer:
  • "far too early to declare victory" on the economic recovery;
  • the Fed was too optimistic early on in the recovery;
  • the Fed won't "take any options off the table";
  • lending to medium and large firms has picked up;
  • gasoline prices are a "major problem" for the economy
  • housing remains a "big concern" for the Fed;
  • housing remains "pretty flat"; and
  • housing will be a part of the full economic recovery.
