The Perrigo Company (Nasdaq: PRGO) has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to manufacture and market Ciclopirox Topical Suspension USP. 0.77% (Lotion).
The product is the AB-rated equivalent to Medicis Pharmaceutical's Loprox Topical Suspension, 0.77%, an antifungal medication indicated for the topical treatment of common skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. According to Wolters Kluwer data, annual sales for the last 12 months were approximately $42 million.
