Morning Movers 11/09: EWBC, CVM, REV, CGEN, RSH Higher; CHDX, SRZ, GTN, RPRX, VSR Lower

East West Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: EWBC) 49.1% HIGHER; announced today that it has acquired the banking operations of San Francisco, California based United Commercial Bank in a FDIC assisted transaction. Under the terms of the transaction, East West will receive $10.4 billion in assets, including $7.7 billion in loans, and assume $9.2 billion in liabilities, including $6.5 billion in deposits of UCB. The FDIC and East West have entered into a loss sharing agreement covering substantially all acquired loans. The stock was also upgraded to Hold at Sandler O'Neill.

Chindex International, Inc (NASDAQ: CHDX) 22.9% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.05, versus the analyst estimate of $0.13. Revenue for the quarter was $38.10 million, which compares to the estimate of $45.53 million.

Sunrise Senior Living (NYSE: SRZ) 21.6% LOWER; reports Q3 loss of $0.88, compared to ($1.36) in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $382.60 million, versus $412.60 million in Q08.

Gray Television, Inc. (NYSE: GTN) 20.7% LOWER; reports Q3 loss of ($0.21), 6 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.27). Revenue for the quarter was $66.40 million, which compares to the estimate of $66.37 million.

CEL-SCI Corporation (AMEX: CVM) 18% HIGHER; announced today that Dr. Kenneth S. Rosenthal, Professor of Immunology and Microbiology of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and Pharmacy, reported on work conducted in collaboration with scientists at the Cleveland Clinic and CEL-SCI on CEL-SCI's LEAPS vaccine technology. Revlon, Inc. (NYSE: REV) 18% HIGHER; announced that its wholly-owned operating subsidiary, Revlon Consumer Products Corporation, has received all of the required lender consents to amend its bank term loan credit agreement and bank revolver credit agreement to permit RCPC to conduct certain refinancing transactions on a variety of terms and conditions, including terms that would permit RCPC to seek to refinance its 91/2% Senior Notes due April 2011 on a secured basis. Compugen Ltd. (NASDAQ: CGEN) 16.9% HIGHER; announced today the discovery and experimental confirmation of a genetic biomarker, CGEN-40001 for predisposition to type 2 diabetes, the most common form of diabetes. This new biomarker was discovered using Compugen's GeneVa platform, which consists of an in silico database of approximately 350,000 predicted genetic variations in the human genome, with each predicted variation consisting of multiple consecutive nucleotides.

RadioShack (NYSE: RSH) 15.2% HIGHER; disclosed that they will introduce Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) popular iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS at their stores. RadioShack said the iPhone will be available in the Dallas-Fort Worth and New York City metropolitan areas beginning later this month.

Repros Therapeutics Inc. (Nasdaq: RPRX) 14.9% LOWER; reports Q3 loss of $0.66, 7 cents lower than the analyst estimate of ($0.59).

Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: ARIA) 13.4% HIGHER; JP Morgan upgrades the stock Neutral to Overweight with a $6 price target.

TETRA Technologies (NYSE: TTI) 12.3% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.30, 8 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.22. Revenue for the quarter was $253.98 million, which compares to the estimate of $225.86 million.

Versar Inc. (NYSE: VSR) 11.9% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.03, compared to $0.06 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $24.71 million, versus $24.99 million in Q109.

Hercules Offshore (Nasdaq: HERO) 10.5% HIGHER; Credit Suisse upgrades the stock from Neutral to Outperform and raises their price target from from $5 to $7.

Zhongpin, Inc. (NASDAQ: HOGS) 9.7% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.44, 6 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.38. Revenue for the quarter was $194.9 million, which compares to the estimate of $192.10 million.
