FDA Requests Additional Information From Makers of Asthma Drugs for Children - DJ

Dow Jones reports the U.S. FDA said it's requested additional information from makers of certain asthma drugs as part of an ongoing safety review of the drugs in children.

The FDA will schedule another advisory panel later this year or early next year to evaluate any new information on the drugs, which include GlaxoSmithKline PLC's (NYSE: GSK) Serevent and Advair, Novartis AG's (NYSE: NVS) and Schering-Plough's (NYSE: SGP) Foradil and AstraZeneca's (NYSE: AZN) Symbicort.
