Borrowing costs in Germany continued their decline today with yields on new-issue 10-year Bunds falling to a low of 1.31. The government sold €4.153 billion this morning and there was strong demand for the Bunds, as investors in Europe continue to seek out safe-haven assets.

Today data in Germany showed that CPI in June was 1.7 percent, inline with expectations. Shares on the DAX index gained 0.71 percent intraday. MSCI Germany Index ETF (NYSE: EWG) is lower by 4.3 percent in the past 5 trading sessions, but is expected to open higher on Wednesday.
