EIA Lowers '09 Crude Oil Forecast from $53 to $51.70/Barrel
The EIA expects crude oil to average $51.70 per barrel in '09, which compares to the prior estimate of $53.00.
Specifically for Q3, the EIA sees crude oil averaging about $55 per barrel.
The price for a barrel of crude oil broke the $60 level today, but most recently traded at $58.74, up nearly 0.50% from yesterday's close. Notably, crude had not broken above the $60 level since November 11 of '08.
