Semitool (SMTL) Misses Q1 EPS by 4c, Guides Above for Q2

Semitool (Nasdaq: SMTL) reports a Q1 loss of $0.21 (ex-restructuring charges of $0.02), 4 cents worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.17). Revenue for the quarter was $33.1 million, versus the consensus of $32 million.

Management expects second quarter revenue will be in a range of $31 million to $35 million. (Consensus is $25.5 million)

Second quarter loss per share is expected to range from $0.02 to $0.07, which includes $0.03 in anticipated restructuring costs. (Consensus is an $0.18 loss)

Semitool designs, manufactures and supports highly engineered, multi-chamber single-wafer and batch wet chemical processing equipment used in the fabrication of semiconductor devices.
