Red Hat, Inc. (RHT) Posts Solid Q2 Results; Guides Q3, Raises FY12 Outlook

Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT) reported Q2 EPS of $0.29, ex-items, $0.04 better than the analyst estimate of $0.25. Revenue for the quarter came in at $281 million versus the consensus estimate of $271.18 million.

UPDATE: On its quarterly conference call, Red Hat updated some guidance:

Sees Q3 adj-EPS of 25-26c, vs. the consensus of 25c, on sales of $288-$290 million, vs. cons. $273.91 million.

Raises its FY12 guidance to $1.03-$1.05, up from 94-96c in March, vs. the consensus of $1. See sales of $1.12-$1.13 billion, which compares to the Street estimate of $1.09 billion. Prior guidance was for sales of $1.05-$1.07 billion.
