Helicos BioSciences Corporation (NASDAQ: HLCS) 24.8% HIGHER; continuing higher from news on Monday of the publication of a breakthrough study in which a Helicos(TM) Genetic Analysis System was used to sequence a human genome at the Stanford Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine. E-House (China) Holdings Limited (NYSE: EJ) 18.5% HIGHER; reports Q2 non-GAAP EPS of $0.27, 10 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.17. Revenue for the quarter was $63.5 million, versus the consensus of $50.67 million. Sees Q3 revs of $78-$80 million, versus the consensus of $52.66 million.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: JAZZ) 18.4% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.07, compared to a loss of $2.17 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $37.3 million, versus $15.5 million in Q208. Sees FY09 sales of $112-$122 million.

CytRx Corporation (NASDAQ: CYTR) 16% HIGHER; today announced that its proprietary drug candidate INNO-206 dramatically inhibited tumor growth in an experimental animal model of small cell lung cancer. The results of the trial have been released in electronic form and accepted for publication in the peer-reviewed journal Investigational New Drugs.

WuXi PharmaTech Co., Ltd. (NYSE: WX) 14.7% HIGHER; reports Q2 non-GAAP EPS of $0.24, 12 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.12. Revenue for the quarter was $67 million, versus the consensus of $63.73 million.

Gushan Environmental Energy (NYSE: GU) 14.7% LOWER; reports Q2 adj-loss of $0.18, versus the analyst estimate of $0.01 and compared to a gain of $0.23 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $25 million, versus the consensus of $44.65 million.

China Automotive Systems (Nasdaq: CAAS) 13.9% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.21, 9 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.12. Revenue for the quarter was $62.5 million, versus the consensus of $48.77 million. The Company adjusted upward its revenue guidance for 2009. The Company now expects its revenue to increase by more than 20% for the year 2009.

Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (NASDAQ: TSEM) 13.3% HIGHER; reports Q2 GAAP loss of $0.19, compared to a loss of $0.25 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $60.6 million, versus $58.1 million in Q208. Sees Q3 sales of $73-$77 million.

3SBio (Nasdaq: SSRX) 13% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.18, ex-items, 5 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.13. Revenue for the quarter was $11.9 million, versus the consensus of $10.57 million.

Commercial Vehicle Group (Nasdaq: CVGI) 12.4% HIGHER; JP Morgan upgrades the stock from Underweight to Overweight, with a $7 price target.

Hana Biosciences (Nasdaq: HNAB) 12% HIGHER; today announced it has achieved its enrollment goal of 56 evaluable subjects in the pivotal Phase 2 rALLy clinical trial for Marqibo(r) (vincristine sulfate liposomes injection) for the treatment of adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia in second relapse. Hana announced in June 2009, during the 44th Annual ASCO Meeting, that ten subjects, or 30 percent, of the first 33 evaluable subjects achieved a CR or CRi. Data presented at ASCO also showed encouraging preliminary response duration and overall survival data, as well as a predictable safety profile with no unexpected toxicity. Hana expects the final patient data to be available by year-end and, assuming positive results, plans to file its NDA seeking accelerated approval in the first half of 2010.

ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT) 10.9% HIGHER; said it is expanding the scope of a previously announced restructuring initiative in the Europe, Middle East, Africa region to include the United States, Latin America and the Asia Pacific region. ADC also expects its sees Q3 Non-GAAP earnings per share within the range of $0.11 to $0.16 cents, above the consensus of $0.08. ADC sees revenue results for the third quarter of around $280 million, versus the consensus of $280.35 million. Click here for the full report.

JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (Nasdaq: JASO) 10.5% LOWER; reports Q2 loss of $0.18, which may not compare to the consensus of a $0.06 loss. Revenues came in at $88 million, versus the consensus of $77.6 million. Looking ahead, the company is seeing significant sings of market improvement in the both end-market demand and financing.

Dynavax Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: DVAX) 10.4% HIGHER; today announced that it has met with the European Medicines Evaluation Agency to discuss its plans for continued clinical development of HEPLISAVTM Phase 3 investigational adult hepatitis B vaccine in Europe. VisionChina Media (Nasdaq: VISN) 9.7% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.10, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.10. Revenue for the quarter was $30.8 million, versus the consensus of $30.75 million. Sees Q3 sales of $30.7-$32.1 million, versus the consensus of $36.23 million. Revises its FY09 sales guidance from $141-$157 million to $121-$124 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $137.56 million.

Liz Claiborne (NYSE: LIZ) 9% LOWER; reports a Q2 loss of $0.48 per share, ex-items, below the consensus of a $0.40 loss. Revenues fell 29% to $684 million, versus the consensus of $691.3 million. Liz Claiborne sees Q3 comp store sales declines in the 15-25% range in our Juicy Couture, Lucky Brand and Kate Spade brands. Liz Claiborne expect fourth quarter comps to improve as we anniversary the economic downturn that began in September of last year. Liz Claiborne announced an additional $100 million in anticipated cost reduction, which is on top of the $70 million program executed in the first quarter.

Toll Brothers, Inc. (NYSE: TOL) 8.9% HIGHER; reports preliminary homebuilding sales for Q3 of $461.3 million, down 42% from the same quarter last year and compared to the Street estimate of $377.06 million. Units sold for the quarter were 792, down from 1,244 in Q308.

Bob Evans Farms (Nasdaq: BOBE) 8.8% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.52, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.52. Revenue for the quarter was $429.5 million, versus the consensus of $435.80 million. Reaffirms FY10 forecast.

YRC Worldwide (Nasdaq: YRCW) 8.7% LOWER; Stifel Nicolaus downgrades the stockfrom Hold to Sell.

Clearwire Corporation (Nasdaq: CLWR) 8.7% LOWER; reports Q2 loss of $0.38, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of ($0.39). Revenue for the quarter was $63.6 million, versus the consensus of $65.24 million. Maintains FY09, FY10 outlook.

Vanguard Natural Resources, LLC (NYSE: VNR) 8.3% LOWER; priced its public offering of 3,500,000 common units representing limited liability company interests in the Company at a price of $14.25 per unit.

American Water (NYSE: AWK) 6% LOWER; today announced an offering of 30 million shares of common stock. Pursuant to the offering, all of the shares will be sold by the selling stockholder, a subsidiary of RWE AG, with proceeds going to RWE. The selling stockholder has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 4.5 million additional shares.
